Hello coffee friends!
Brewing coffee with a V60 Pour Over is one of the most popular methods among coffee enthusiasts. It is a manual brewing method that requires a little patience and precision, but the reward is great: a cup of coffee with distinct aromas, clean taste and amazing complexity.
In this guide, we share our favorite recipe for V60 – simple, stable and really tasty.
V60 is a pour over method that allows you to:
enhance the aromas of the coffee
get a cleaner and clearer cup
control strength and extraction
highlight fruit, sweetness and acidity in specialty coffees
If you like light roasted coffee , V60 is basically a must-try.

To brew V60 you need:
A V60 filter holder
A V60 coffee filter
A gooseneck kettle (for better control)
A jug
18g coffee
A wave
A timer
Water (92–96°C)
This recipe is perfect if you want to brew a cup that:
enough for yourself
or can be shared with a friend
18g coffee
300g water
This corresponds to approximately a ratio of 1:16–1:17 , which is a classic balance for the V60.
Fill the kettle with water and bring to a boil.
Then let the water cool down a bit until it is between:
92–96°C
This is the temperature we think gives the best extraction and clearest flavors.
Insert the V60 filter into the filter holder.
Then pour some hot water through the filter to:
rinse away paper taste
heat the filter holder and jug
Pour away the rinsing water.
Weigh up:
18g coffee
Grind the coffee to:
approximately brewed malt
alternatively a little coarser than the brewer's grind
(A grind that is too fine can cause bitterness. A grind that is too coarse can make the cup thin.)
Pour the coffee into the filter.
Shake the filter holder lightly so that the coffee spreads evenly.
This provides a more even extraction.
Now the fun begins.
Pour:
40g water
Let the coffee bloom in:
30 seconds
This causes the coffee to release gases and “open up” the flavor.
After bloom:
Pour in circular motions up to:
120g total
Thus:
40 g (bloom)
80 g (first pour)
Then let the coffee drip until the timer shows:
1 minute
Now all that remains is:
180g water
We divide it into two equal parts:
90g
90g
Once you've poured the last 90 g, just wait.
Brewing should be complete in approximately:
3 minutes
Remove the filter holder, serve and enjoy.
And don't forget: coffee always tastes best in good company ☕
The V60 is particularly good for:
light rust
fruity coffee
elegant washed coffee
floral and aromatic profile

A common recommendation is 15–18 g of coffee for about 250–300 g of water. In our recipe, we use 18 g of coffee for 300 g of water.
A good total brewing time is often around 2:45–3:30 depending on the grind and coffee. Our recipe lands in about 3 minutes.
We recommend 92–96°C.
