Ice: Plenty of large, clear ice cubes.
Tonic water: Choose a high-quality neutral tonic (e.g. Indian Tonic) so that the flavors of the coffee can take center stage.
Double espresso: Brewed with freshly roasted coffee beans. (Tip! A fruity coffee or espresso with citrus notes works wonders here).
A stylish drinking glass: A drinking glass or a wine glass is perfect (35-45cl)
Start by filling your glass with plenty of ice. Don't skimp! The more ice you use, the colder your drink will be without melting too quickly and diluting the delicious flavors.
Pour over tonic water so that the glass is about 2/3 full. Leave enough room at the top for the coffee.
Hällå tip: Pour the tonic slowly along the rim of the glass to retain as much carbonation and bubbles as possible!
Brew a freshly pressed double espresso. Then carefully pour the espresso over the ice and tonic. If you pour slowly over an ice cube, you get that really nice, two-part effect look where the coffee sits like a dark blanket on top of the clear tonic!

Choose the right coffee beans: Since tonic has a distinct bitterness and sweetness, it pairs wonderfully with a coffee that has fruity notes.
Let the espresso cool slightly: If the espresso is scalding hot when you pour it in, the ice will melt immediately. Let it sit for a few seconds before pouring it over.
Luxury for the garnish: Garnish with a sprig of fresh rosemary, a slice of dried orange or a slice of fresh grapefruit peel for an extra elegant touch.
