When the sun is shining, there are few things that beat a really refreshing, creamy Islatte . But did you know there's a way to make it even better than the one you buy at the café? By swapping out the usual hot espresso for a rich Cold Brew, you get an Islatte that's naturally sweet, has lower acidity, and an incredibly smooth coffee flavor that's not covered up by the milk.
It's also the easiest drink in the world to whip up if you already have the coffee ready in the fridge! Here at Hälla Kafferosteri we go through how to succeed step by step.

Ice: Lots of big, lovely ice cubes.
Cold Brew (concentrated or ready-brewed): About 1 dl of your favorite coffee. (Haven't brewed yet? See our simple Cold Brew guide here on the blog!)
Milk: About 1.5–2 dl of milk of your choice (3% standard kopilsner is a personal favorite of ours!).
Optional sweetener (optional): A little vanilla syrup, maple syrup, or caramel syrup if you like extra sweetness.
A large drinking glass.
Start by filling your glass to the brim with ice. Lots of ice not only looks nice, it also ensures that the drink stays really ice cold without melting too quickly.
Pour the milk over so that it covers about 2/3 of the glass. We are not big fans of syrup ourselves, but if you want to sweeten your Iced Latte and add flavor, it is perfect to stir the syrup into the milk now before adding the Cold Brew.
Carefully pour your Cold Brew over the milk and ice. If you pour slowly you get that magical, marbleized effect where the coffee and milk slowly swirl together!
Choose beans that go with milk: Since Cold Brew already has a soft profile, beans with chocolatey, nutty or rich notes go especially well with milk. We recommend our coffee Lagom when making Cold Brew, you can find Lagom here: https://hallakafferosteri.com/kaffe/mellanrostat-kaffe/lagom
Experiment with oat drink: A rich oat drink brings out the natural sweetness of the Cold Brew coffee and gives it a wonderfully creamy texture.
Froth the milk cold: Want café-style luxury at home? Use a hand-held frother and froth the cold milk for a few seconds before pouring it over the ice for a lovely, velvety foam on top.
Stir with a straw and enjoy the perfect coolness!
